Annual Budget Meeting
The Annual Budget Meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 6th at 7:30 PM in the Community Center. In addition to the budget, there are 2 bonding issues, one for an air quality study for Baldwin, and the other for a new roof at Lakes school. We recommend a yes vote on all three items.
Please note that there is provision in the town charter which allows for 250 taxpayers to send the referendum back to the Board of Finance for further cuts prior to the April 20th referendum. We feel that the possibility of this happening is remote, but given the stakes, we would encourage a large and vocal turnout for the meeting Tuesday night.
Budget Referendum and Absentee Ballots
The referendum is presently scheduled for Thursday, April 20th. Please take note that this is only 2 days after the end of April break. It is imperative that we either get to the polls on April 20th or get an absentee ballot before the 20th. Please be sure that your spouse votes by absentee ballot if he/she is planning to be out of town -- this is the one action you can take which will provide the most benefit.
Family members can pick up an absentee ballot from the Town Clerk for a spouse, but it is a much quicker and simpler process (about 5 minutes) if the voter goes to Town Hall directly. Call the Town Clerk for more details at 203-453-8001. Absentee ballots will be available starting on Wednesday at 8:30 AM (office hours are 8:30-4:30).
Girl's Night Out -- All Ladies Welcome!
Karen Goldberg, Tina Roman and Shana Moore will be co-hosting the Girl's Night Out on Wednesday, April 7th at Cafe Grounded at 7:00 PM. Guys, if you received an invitation, please pass it along to any and all interested female voters and encourage them to go.
Phone Banking
On Sunday, April 18th from 3-8 PM and Monday, April 19th from 5-8 PM, we will be conducting phone banking. The more volunteers we have, the more impact we will have at the polls -- it's just that simple. Contact Karen Goldberg to volunteer at 203-453-3515.
